Quite simply NewportNet is a Coworking habitat and shared office space providing freelancers, startups, home based workers and mobile workers an inspiring, collaborative office environment to work together, independently.
Coworking is redefining the way we work by offering a solution to the isolation and distractions that many freelancers experience while working at home. Many of our clients are Web Designers, Photographer/ Video/ Film makers, basically anyone with large files to upload and download utilising our ultra fast Fibre Optic Internet connectivity currently running at 200mbps symmetrical, as well as people who want join NewportNet’s Coworking community.

It’s a good idea to see if NewportNet is a solution for your business needs. We offer a complimentary half day first visit (desk rental only) (up to 4 hrs). Please give me 24hrs booking notice.
What kind of businesses use NewportNet?
We have lots of different businesses who utilise NewportNet facilities. Due to our ultra fast internet we do tend to get Tech heads or people who have large data files to transfer or webinars to run uninterrupted but we also have many home based workers who want to break the isolation and distractions of working from home. Basically anyone who wants a place to get their work done.
Our members consist of Book Keepers, SEO Specialists, Web Designers, Graphic Designers, APP Developers, Marketing Strategists, Building Designers, Bitcoin Provider, VA Outsourcing Providers, Startup Evangelist, Online entrepreneurs, the list goes on.
What is the internet like?
We are proud to offer an ultra fast Optic Fibre Internet connection with current speed up to 200mbps symmetrical. We are not part of the Government NBN. NewportNet is WiFi enabled so you can move from desk to meeting rooms to break out areas with ease.
A daily allocation of 2gb capacity is included in your membership.
Charges for excess usage over 2gb are $10 per gb (or part thereof)
Where is NewportNet located?
We are located in the heart of Newport Beach shopping strip on Sydney’s beautiful Northern Beaches. There is ample free street parking and the bus stop is right outside our building.
What are NewportNet trading hours?
NewportNet is open daily Monday – Friday from 8.30am – 6.00pm.
Out of hours access is available by appointment – minimum 24hrs notice required.
Our RESIDENT membership gives you 24/7 access.
What do I need to bring to work at NewportNet?
Bring along anything you need to conduct your business – computer, mouse, keyboard, headphones, charger, stationery. Due to data file security NewportNet is unable supply computers.
We do have a few extra computer monitors, computer stand, footstool, headphones, phone handsets available on request.
What if I don’t want to be disturbed when I’m working?
No problem, no one takes offence. We all have days when there’s not enough hours to get our workload completed. Just let others know that you have a full day and don’t want to be disturbed. The general rule is whenever someone is wearing headphones it usually means they don’t want to be disturbed. We have a set you can borrow if you forget to bring yours.
Are there quiet areas to work?
NewportNet Coworking is an open plan office, we have numerous breakout areas that you can work from – the couch, balcony or courtyard. Our internet is WiFi enabled so you can work anywhere within NewportNet. If you need some quiet headspace just ask to use the noise cancelling headphones or book a meeting room.
How do I become a member?
Call me to arrange sign up. There is a $100 once off membership fee to cover admin and account set up. All members have access to NewportNet facilities.

What does my membership include?

What’s the benefit of becoming a permanent resident?

Can I use NewportNet on a casual basis?
Of course, we understand that to build your business you’ll have “office” days and “client visit” days. Book in for as many days as you need. The more notice the better chance of getting an available desk. Only pay for the days you come.
Are meeting rooms included in my membership?
Resident & Tenant membership includes 3hrs per week meeting access.
Casual members are entitled to a 10% discount on Meeting room rates.
How do I access the space 24/7?
Resident members have 24/7 access for the duration of full membership. There is a $100 refundable deposit on security keys and swipe cards.
All other members can book after hours access by appointment only.
There is a 20% or min. $10 charge for after hours access on the days booking.
Can I meet my clients at NewportNet?
Of course you can, in fact we encourage it.
We have a couple of casual break out areas for a casual catch up or 2 meeting rooms available on an hourly, half day or full day rate for more formal client meetings. You are welcome to book an additional desk for your colleague to work from for the day.

Can I bring a guest or colleague to work at NewportNet?
We welcome collaboration, guests and colleagues. If it’s a quick catch up of 30 mins or so then pull up a chair. If they are going to stay for hours or the whole day then purchase a Casual Desk Day, you’ll get a 10% discount on their booking.
Can I store my belongings at NewportNet?
Locker facilities are included in Resident bookings. All other members can rent a locker for $2.50 (plus gst) per day.
Lockers are 43.5cm D x43.5 cm H x 30.5cm W, so can easily fit a laptop computer.
What’s your policy on phone calls?
NewportNet is an open plan workspace which works on mutual respect of others. We all understand that there will be phone calls throughout the day. Most people don’t mind a quick, quiet conversation. Move out to the balcony, courtyard or duck into a vacant meeting room if you know that you are going to have a long, extended or private call. If you are going to be on the phone all day, then NewportNet Coworking may not be for you. We have phone handsets available for use to help you use your inside voice.
Can I have mail and parcels delivered to NewportNet?
Sure can. We are happy to collect your mail and parcels.
There is a $25 annual administration fee and $30 per month collection fee. We contact you when mail arrives and hold your mail until you can get in to collect it. http://newportnet.mdz.com.au/services/
Do you have large space for a Seminars or Workshops?
Yes, we offer our open Coworking area for seminars and workshops evenings 6-10pm and weekends 9am – 8pm. Contact us for pricing.
Can I put my membership on hold?
The $100 membership fee is a once only fee per person. If you take a break from Coworking then come back you won’t be charged the membership fee again.
Tenant or Resident bookings are a minimum 3 month agreement which then drops to month by month with a 1 month notice of termination. We can’t guarantee that your preferred desk will be available when you want to resume your membership. Casual bookings are just that – no commitment either way.
How do I change or cancel my membership?
We’d be sad to see you go but completely understand and excited that your business has grown so fast that it’s time for you to get your own office and employ staff.
Casual members: a courtesy phone call would be nice
Residents & Tenants: min. 1 months notice in writing is required.
What is your privacy policy?
NewportNet understands that your privacy is important to you. It is our policy not to sell your private personally identifiable information that you provide s via this website to third parties that are not related to NewportNet or it’s affiliates, or subsequent owners of them. If you provide your credit card information to us for a transaction over the web, it is our policy to charge your credit card only for the amount and for the transaction we understand that you have authorised. We will use information about you in a variety of ways, for example, for promotions, to complete transactions, to communicate with you, to assist us in marketing analysis and efforts and other ways. Can I bring my kids? Pets?
Fellow Coworkers have escaped the distraction of kids and pets and are here to get their work done. Kids are not conducive to our work environment so it’s best to find other arrangements for your kids. Sorry, our lease doesn’t allow pets.
Is there bike storage?
We have a few people who like to ride their bike to work. You are welcome to park it in the courtyard.
What other facilities does NewportNet offer?
We have a shower onsite for those who like to freshen up after bike riding, walking to work or taking in a fitness training session at the beach at lunch time. Bring your own towel and toiletries.
